Delete your account.
You can delete your Pebl account at any time. Deleting cannot be undone.
In the app
Open Settings
Tap Settings in Pebl’s bottom bar.
Delete account
Tap “Delete account” at the bottom of the Account section. If you like, take a copy first with “Download my data”.
Enter the code
Enter the deletion code sent to your email, and your PIN if two-step verification is on. Your account is deleted at once.
If you can’t reach the app
If you lost your phone or deleted Pebl, send an email with the subject “Delete account” from your registered address to kvkk@pebl.im. We check that the address is registered, delete your account within 30 days at the latest, and let you know.
What is deleted
Your account
Your email address, name, username, profile photo and avatar colour.
Your connections
Your contacts and nicknames, blocks, friend requests, sessions, notification tokens and encryption keys.
Your groups
You leave every group; groups you ran pass to another member.
What’s on this phone
When you delete from the app, the chats and media on that phone are deleted too.
What stays
Messages others have
Messages you sent stay on the other people’s phones, where your name is replaced by “Deleted account”. Pebl cannot read or delete them.
Your username
So nobody can impersonate you, it is not given to anyone else for 30 days; then it is free.
Backups
Copies in server backups are deleted automatically within 14 days.
Reports
Reports you made, or that were made about you, are deleted automatically after a year.
